Robert-Bosch-Hospital in Stuttgart

The Robert-Bosch-Hospital in Stuttgart is one of the leading hospitals in Germany founded in 1936 by the world-famous inventor and industrialist Robert Bosch on the basis of the Foundation.

Prof. D.M. Eduard F. Stange is a head of the hospital. His achievement lies in developments of new medicinal methods of successful treatment for chronic and inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

The department specializes in the following fields of medicine:

• Chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (Morbus Crohn & Colitis ulcerosa), especially severe forms of these diseases

• Liver disease, especially the diagnosis and treatment of chronic forms of hepatitis B & C

• Metabolic disorders, which are the result of improper feeding and deficient physical activity leading subsequently to excessive weight, diabetes and high blood pressure (the so-called metabolic syndrome)

• All forms of endoscopic diagnosis and surgical intervention with the use of endoscopy. Removal of gallstones and pancreatic stones, endoprosthesis replacement of stenosis of the pancreatic duct, removal of polypous appearances, the local treatment of tumors using a laser and Argon-Beamer

• All types of ultrasound and the widespread use of ultrasound in the operations

The Department of Hematology, Oncology and Clinical Immunology

Under the direction of Prof. D.M.Walter-Erich Aulitzky specializes in the cancer treatment of the blood-forming and lymphatic systems, drug therapy of internal organ cancer and treatment of diseases of the immune system. Directly at the department there are special care wards to treat acute leukemia and to carry out stem cell transplantations produced in the own laboratory department. Molecular diagnosis is possible, too. The constant skill development of medical personnel, the highest level of technical equipment and close cooperation of different departments provide the best first-class treatment and care.

Department of Cardiology and Pulmonology

The department of Cardiology and Pulmonology under the direction of Professor D.M. Udo Sechtem has great experience in the treatment of various heart and lung diseases. The combination of experience and the latest technical equipment allows successful carrying out of the following diagnosis and treatment:

• Diagnosis of catheter (including examination of endothelial function disorders)

• All kinds of complex invasions by catheter (balloon dilatation, stent-implantation, including the installation of stents with coated with medicated capping, rotablation in case of coronary heart disease)

The department specializes also in conducting:

• Hemodialysis (inpatient and outpatient)

• Peritoneal dialysis (CAPD, CCPD)

The department of general and visceral surgery under the direction of Professor D.M. Gynecology and obstetric department

The doctors of the gynecology and obstetric department under the direction of Professor D.M. Wolfgang Simon carry out up to 3 000 surgical interventions per year. Every year more than 1000 babies come into the world here. The department cooperates closely with the center for breast disease. Specialists of the gynecology and obstetric department have made every effort to provide highly skilled care and optimize the whole spectrum of treatment of gynecological diseases and breast diseases.
