Department of obstetrics and prenatal medicine Professor Hans Van der Ven is the department head. The department works on the basis of the University hospital of Bonn for more than 20 years. A department team of specialists includes physicians, biologists and laboratory assistant and specializes in infertility treatment. In addition to diagnostics and infertility treatment, the department offers its patients advanced medical technology and methods to help solving the problem. Along with standard methods, such as intrauterine insemination, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), the newest methods such as biopsy of polar bodies are used. Many new techniques have been developed directly at the clinic, have passed diagnostic tests and have been applied in Germany.
